there’s a hole in my money

September 29, 2012

it can happen to anyone of us – you sit at home, a bit bored, count your cash, play with scissors, slip and suddenly there’s a big circle-shaped hole in one of your bills*. what do you do now? here’s what; you get a pin-back button machine and make a money badge!

* deliberately destroying money is of course totally illegal, so nobody would ever do this on purpose.

neat, right? but is it worth ten euros? it doesn’t have to be! if more than 50 percent of the bill are still undamaged you can usually return it to your bank in exchange for a new one. and by “usually” i mean that consumer banks are not obliged to exchange it but they usually do it anyway. ironically that makes money basically free crafting paper.

broken bill:

fixed it!
